The Colours of Life
Circa 1985
Dawn breaks with the colours of pink and blue,
When night has forsaken its darker hue,
The sky enlarges to a faint pale gray,
And tells us that life begins with day ,
The sun appears from the earth's far rim,
And warms our heart, fills hope to the brim,
Slowly the sun becomes the gold of the day,
And the silver stream where fishes play
Winds its course through banks so green,
Where water fowl rest to bask and preen,
The majestic swan, so tall, so white,
Surveys the scene in regal delight.
A garden of flowers, and broad oak tree
Is the wealth this world gives to you and to me.
